“As other ethnic groups have
arrived in the United States
they instinctively seek to do
business with like minded
people who share their values,
speak their language and enjoy
their culture. Each of these
immigrants instinctively engage
in business amongst their own
ethnic group.
Black-Americans are the only
ethnic group in the United
States that has to be told to
do business amongst your
own people. Blacks financially
support every other ethnic
group’s business except their
own. Go engage with Black
businesses! The dollar doesn't
bounce in the Black community
one time before it’s spent.”
—Dr. Claud Anderson
“Black people on planet earth
are seen as the poorest people
on earth. Yet they come from a
continent with the most abundant
amount of minerals and natural
resources. A wealth of materials
and human resources exist
within their reach, beneath their
feet. Japan is a nation with
little to no natural resources
that exist on what is almost
barren, volcanic rock in the
midst of the Pacific ocean.
Yet the Japanese are seen as a
global, economic, super-power on
the world stage. Black-Americans
are seen as the poorest ethnic
group in the United States.
However, if viewed as a nation,
Black-Americans engage in more
trade with the United States than
the nation of Canada. If Black-
Americans only knew how to
capture the wealth of spending
by Black-American consumers.”
—The late Dr. Amos Wilson
“Black people have always been
the worlds richest people. Rich
in culture, rich in materialism
and rich in spirit. This is why we
didn’t build elaborate churches
and cathedrals. All of life was our
cathedral. Spiritually, wecelebrated
everything because all living things
was apart of the celebration of life.”
“It's a pity that our Black children
don’t know about the ancient
African empires. We have to go
back into our history to learn this.
And the main thing that has been
directed against Black people,
that makes us feel so depressed;
is that we have been robbed of
the concept of self confidence and
historical memory. Self confidence
and historical memory is what
we need to reclaim again. So we
understand what we still must
be, and were we still must go.”
—The late Dr. John Henrick Clarke

“If every Black-American Fashion
Designer today chose to do
business exclusively with Black
owned apparel retailers here in
the United States... There exist
no shortage of Black retailers for
starting a strategic partnership
with. In-fact, there exist an ever
of Black-
American startup apparel retailers.
expanding number
Both brick and mortar, and online.
We know from our elders what
we must do. The challenge is,
perhaps we don’t know how we
are to formulate this relationship
for doing business? It’s the “how”
that has Blacks paused.”
